Thread Lift Frequently Asked Questions

Q

What are the benefits of thread lifts?

A

Thread lifts can lift sagging skin along the jawline, cheeks, and around the mouth, helping to create a more defined facial contour. As the inserted threads are absorbed by the body, this process is expected to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which can help maintain the skin’s firmness and elasticity.

Q

How many thread lifts should I get?

A

The number of threads required varies depending on the degree of sagging, the area to be lifted, and the type of thread used.

At YAYOI CLINIC, we assess the condition of your face before determining the type and number of threads to use, as well as their insertion points.

Q

When can I start to feel the effects of a thread lift?

A

You may notice the lifting effect immediately after the treatment.

After that, over the course of about two weeks to one month, you can expect an increase in collagen and elastin, and you’ll gradually begin to notice improved skin firmness and elasticity.

Q

How long do the effects of a thread lift last?

A

The effects of a thread lift typically last about 6 months to 1 year.

If you wish to maintain the results, consider undergoing another treatment in about 6 months to 1 year.

Q

How long is the downtime for a thread lift?

A

For several weeks to about a month, you may experience skin indentations, tightness, or a feeling of tightness.

If bruising occurs, it generally subsides within about two weeks.

Q

Is a thread lift painful?

A

Since we use nitrous oxide anesthesia during the procedure, you will usually feel very little pain.

After the procedure, you may experience pain near the temples or other areas where the threads were inserted, which may last for about 1 to 2 days.

Q

How long do indentations and tightness last after a thread lift?

A

After the procedure, you may experience temporary indentations, tightness, or a pulling sensation.

While the unevenness generally becomes less noticeable within about 1 to 2 weeks, the discomfort may persist for several weeks to about a month.

Q

Do the threads used in a thread lift remain in the body?

A

The sutures used at YAYOI CLINIC are medical-grade sutures that are gradually absorbed by the body.

It is believed that the process of thread absorption promotes an increase in collagen and elastin, and that skin firmness and elasticity are likely to be maintained even after the threads have been absorbed.

Q

When can I start wearing makeup and washing my face after a thread lift?

A

You may apply makeup and wash your face starting the day after your treatment.

On the day of the procedure, do not get your face wet. You may take a bath starting on the third day after the procedure, but please refrain from facial massages and dental treatments that require you to open your mouth wide for about one month.

Q

How much does a thread lift cost?

A

Prices vary depending on the type and number of threads used.

At YAYOI CLINIC, we offer Artemis Lift and Tes Lift at prices such as 72,600 yen per vial, 261,360 yen for 4 vials, and 348,480 yen for 6 vials. Please check the “Price List” page for the most up-to-date pricing.
