FAQ
Manuka Peel Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of treatment is the Manuka Peel?
Manuka Peel is a peel that combines three types of acids—lactic acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid—with Manuka honey. It helps remove dead skin cells while addressing skin concerns such as acne, enlarged pores, and rough texture.
Is Manuka Peel effective for acne?
Manuka Peel is used to treat recurring acne and skin prone to breakouts. In addition to exfoliation with glycolic acid, it is also expected to provide the antibacterial and moisturizing benefits of Manuka honey.
Can Manuka Peel be used to treat blackheads and enlarged pores?
Yes. The Manuka Peel addresses clogged pores, blackheads, and rough texture by exfoliating dead skin cells. Since the appropriate treatment varies depending on the condition of your pores, we’ll assess your skin before selecting the right treatment.
Does the Manuka Peel hurt?
Although the Manuka Peel is designed to be gentle, some people may experience a stinging sensation during the treatment, depending on their skin condition. Skin conditions and sensitivity to irritation vary from person to person.
Is there any downtime with the Manuka Peel?
Although the Manuka Peel is a treatment designed to minimize downtime, redness, irritation, dryness, and peeling may occur. If these symptoms are severe or persistent, please consult a doctor.
How many Manuka Peel treatments do you get?
For Manuka Peel, the recommended frequency is once every 2 to 4 weeks, for a total of about 6 to 10 sessions. The appropriate number of sessions varies depending on your skin condition and the purpose of the treatment.
Can the Manuka Peel at YAYOI CLINIC be combined with other treatments?
Yes. At YAYOI CLINIC, we also offer treatments that combine Manuka Peel with “TriBeam Premium” or “Mesona J,” depending on your skin concerns. We can tailor the treatment plan to address multiple concerns, such as enlarged pores, acne, dullness, and loss of firmness and radiance.
Can the Manuka Peel treatment at YAYOI CLINIC be tailored to my skin condition?
Yes. At YAYOI CLINIC, we assess your skin condition, concerns, desired treatment duration, budget, and preferences regarding downtime before proposing a treatment plan tailored to each individual. We can also determine during your consultation whether the Manuka Peel is right for you.
Can I apply makeup right after a Manuka Peel treatment?
Depending on your skin condition, you can apply makeup the same day as your Manuka Peel treatment. However, since your skin will be sensitive after the treatment, it’s important to avoid harsh friction and to moisturize and protect your skin from UV rays.
Can people with sensitive skin undergo the Manuka Peel?
Although the Manuka Peel is a relatively gentle exfoliation treatment, there are cases where it cannot be performed, such as for those with severely sensitive skin, severe inflammation, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have sensitive skin, please do not make a decision on your own; consult a doctor before undergoing the treatment.
