FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Permanent Makeup Laser Removal
Can I remove permanent makeup myself?
We do not recommend removing permanent makeup yourself using over-the-counter creams or similar products.
Since this may cause skin problems or leave pigmentation, please consult a medical professional if you wish to have it removed.
Can permanent makeup be removed in a single session?
With permanent makeup, it is not always possible to remove all pigment with a single laser treatment.
Although it varies depending on the type of pigment, how well it has set, and the treatment area, generally, about 2 to 5 sessions are recommended.
Can you remove permanent makeup that has changed color?
You can also consult with us about laser removal for permanent makeup that still has gray or reddish tones.
However, the reaction to the laser varies depending on the pigment used, and yellow-toned pigments, for example, may be more likely to remain.
Can you remove permanent makeup that was applied at another clinic?
Yes. We’re happy to consult with you regarding permanent makeup performed at other clinics or permanent makeup that has been corrected.
At YAYOI CLINIC, we assess your skin tone and condition before determining whether you are a suitable candidate for treatment.
What will my skin look like after having permanent makeup removed with a laser?
After the procedure, you may experience redness, swelling, a stinging sensation, or a feeling of heat.
Symptoms vary from person to person, but they generally subside within about 2 to 3 days.
Will my eyebrows fall out if I have permanent makeup removed with a laser?
Laser treatment may cause temporary hair shedding or hair loss.
In addition, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, and scabbing may occur.
Does laser removal of permanent makeup hurt?
You may feel some discomfort or pain during laser treatment.
At YAYOI CLINIC, we provide topical anesthesia, which can be used depending on your preferences and condition.
After having my permanent makeup removed, can I have it redone?
Yes. We can apply new permanent makeup while monitoring the condition of your skin and pigmentation after removal. If you have your permanent makeup reapplied at YAYOI CLINIC following laser removal, you’ll receive a 10,000-yen discount off the regular price.
How soon after permanent makeup removal can I wash my face and apply makeup?
You may wash your face starting on the day of your treatment, but please limit bathing to a shower on that day only.
You may wear light makeup starting the day of your procedure, but please avoid using pencil-type products on the treated area.
