Frequently Asked Questions About Subscriptions

Q

What kind of treatment is subcision?

A

Subcision is a procedure that uses a cannula to detach the scar tissue causing acne scars and address skin tightness. It is used to treat deep pitted or uneven acne scars.

Q

What types of acne scars is subcision suitable for?

A

Subcision is suitable for “rolling-type” acne scars, where scar tissue beneath the skin causes the skin to pucker. Since the appropriate treatment varies depending on the type of acne scar, we first assess the condition of your skin.

Q

Does subcision hurt?

A

Since subcision involves using a cannula to separate scar tissue, you may experience some pain. At YAYOI CLINIC, we take measures to minimize discomfort during the procedure, such as using anesthetic cream, cooling, and gentle touch by our nurses.

Q

What are the downtime effects of subcision?

A

With subcision, swelling, redness, or bruising may occur after the procedure. The severity of these symptoms varies from person to person, and careful consideration is necessary for individuals prone to keloids.

Q

Will subcision improve acne scars after just one treatment?

A

Subcision may be completed in a single session, but the number of sessions required varies depending on the depth and extent of the acne scars. At YAYOI CLINIC, we assess your skin condition to determine the appropriate number of sessions.

Q

Can I combine Subscion with Jubelook?

A

Yes. At YAYOI CLINIC, we perform treatments that combine subcision—a procedure to remove scar tissue—with Jubelook. We particularly recommend combining Jubelook with subcision for acne scars with deep indentations.

Q

What is the difference between Subscription and Tri-Fill Pro?

A

Subcision is a procedure that involves directly separating scar tissue using a cannula, while Tri-Fill Pro is a procedure that uses CO₂ gas and medication to address adhesions in scar tissue. Depending on the condition of the acne scars, we will consider performing either procedure alone or in combination.

Q

How does YAYOI CLINIC determine the type of acne scars?

A

At YAYOI CLINIC, in addition to a consultation with a doctor, we use the “VISIA®” skin analysis system to assess the condition of acne scars and pitted scars. We will recommend the treatment best suited to your skin’s condition.

Q

How much does a subscription cost?

A

At YAYOI CLINIC, the cost for a subcision procedure without injections is 22,000 yen per area (2 cm × 2 cm). If you combine the procedure with Jubelook, the cost is 11,000 yen per 2 cm × 2 cm area, plus the cost of the Jubelook solution. (*Prices as of October 2026. Please check the price list for the latest pricing information.)

Q

Can anyone with a crater get a subcision?

A

Subcision is not suitable for all types of acne scars. The doctor will examine the type of acne scar, the condition of the scar tissue, and the overall condition of your skin to determine whether subcision is appropriate.
