Permanent Makeup Frequently Asked Questions

Q

How long does permanent makeup last?

A

With permanent makeup, the results typically last about 1 to 3 years after completing a full course of treatments.

The duration of results varies from person to person depending on skin type, lifestyle, metabolism, and other factors.

Q

Can permanent makeup be completed in just one session?

A

At YAYOI CLINIC, we generally consider two sessions to constitute one course of permanent makeup treatment.

We'll apply the color in two separate sessions, building up the layers to achieve a natural look and get as close as possible to your desired result.

Q

When can I schedule my second permanent makeup session?

A

You can schedule your second permanent makeup session at least four weeks after your first session.

Since pigment retention varies from person to person, we will perform a second treatment while monitoring your progress.

Q

Do you offer permanent makeup services other than eyebrows?

A

Yes, at YAYOI CLINIC, we offer permanent makeup services for eyebrows, eyeliner, lips, moles, and the scalp. We’ll discuss your desired shape and color and create a design tailored to your facial structure and natural skin tone.

Q

Can men get permanent makeup, too?

A

Yes, men can also get permanent makeup.

At YAYOI CLINIC, we design eyebrows tailored to each individual’s facial structure and hair growth pattern, aiming for a natural, masculine look and a clean, polished appearance. For more details, please visit our “Men’s Permanent Makeup” page.

Q

How long is the downtime for art make-up?

A

The downtime for permanent makeup varies from person to person, but it generally lasts about one week.

Since your skin will be slightly damaged after the treatment, be sure to keep the treated area clean and moisturize it thoroughly.

Q

How soon after permanent makeup can I wash my face and apply makeup?

A

You may wash your face 24 hours after the treatment.

Please refrain from using oil-based cleansers or wearing makeup on the treated area for one week after the treatment.

Q

Is it possible to experience swelling or skin problems after getting permanent makeup?

A

With permanent makeup, temporary swelling, bleeding, inflammation, bruising, redness, scabbing, uneven color, fading, and discoloration may occur.

Cold sores can develop on the lips, and depending on an individual’s constitution, keloids or infections may also occur.

Q

Are there any cases where I cannot get permanent makeup?

A

Permanent makeup is not available for pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals taking anticoagulants or antithrombotic medications, those prone to keloids, or those with severe metal allergies.

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, are taking any medications, or have allergies, please consult a doctor at YAYOI CLINIC before your treatment.
