Can I pay for medical hair removal on a per-session basis?
YAYOI CLINIC’s medical hair removal service offers pay-as-you-go options. If you plan to continue treatment, you can also choose a 5-session package or session passes for specific body areas. Since some plans offer special rates for members (PP), you can select a payment method that best suits your desired treatment areas and the number of visits. Can medical hair removal be performed on the nape of the neck?
At YAYOI CLINIC, the nape of the neck is also eligible for medical hair removal. The treatment page for the GentleMax Pro Plus features case studies of nape hair removal. Since “coarsening”—a condition where hair becomes thicker after treatment—may occur in the nape area, we will assess the condition of the hair and the treatment area during a consultation before proceeding.
Can men also get medical hair removal?
YAYOI CLINIC also offers medical hair removal for men. We treat areas such as the face, neck, and nape of the neck, as well as the back, underarms, arms, and legs. However, we do not perform VIO hair removal for men. We have taken steps to minimize opportunities for patients to come into contact with others, such as not having a shared waiting room and guiding patients to private rooms upon arrival.
How many sessions of medical hair removal are typically needed?
The number of sessions required for medical hair removal varies from person to person. At YAYOI CLINIC, you may begin to notice a change in hair density around the third session, and we generally recommend about 5 to 10 sessions to reduce the burden of self-grooming. Depending on your hair type and the treatment area, more than 10 sessions may be necessary, so you can decide whether to continue based on your progress.
What equipment does YAYOI CLINIC use for medical hair removal?
At YAYOI CLINIC, we use the GentleMax Pro Plus for medical hair removal. This device allows us to switch between an alexandrite laser and a YAG laser depending on hair type and the treatment area. It is effective on everything from fine vellus hair to thick hair, but the specific treatment method is determined during a consultation after assessing the condition of your skin and hair.
Do I need to shave before getting medical hair removal?
Generally, you need to shave the hair in the treatment area before undergoing medical hair removal. At YAYOI CLINIC, we recommend that you shave the area with a razor or electric shaver the day before or on the day of your appointment before coming to the clinic. During the hair removal treatment period, please avoid tweezing or waxing and limit self-grooming to shaving only. We will assess the condition of your skin during the pre-treatment consultation.
Does laser treatment for medical hair removal hurt?
During medical hair removal, you may experience pain or a stinging sensation when the laser is applied. While YAYOI CLINIC’s GentleMax Pro Plus is equipped with a feature that cools the epidermis, the level of pain experienced varies from person to person. If you feel severe pain or discomfort during the procedure, please let a staff member know immediately.
How should I care for my skin after medical hair removal?
After medical hair removal, be sure to moisturize your skin and avoid sun exposure. At YAYOI CLINIC, we cool the skin after treatment and advise patients to protect themselves from UV rays at home by using sunscreen and wearing a hat. Since any hair remaining in the follicles will gradually fall out over the course of about 3 to 4 weeks, it’s important not to pull them out forcefully or scratch the treated area.
How much does a single session of medical hair removal at YAYOI CLINIC cost?
Prices for medical hair removal vary depending on the treatment area and plan. At YAYOI CLINIC, the standard price per session is 22,000 yen for the full face (including the nose) for women and 33,000 yen for the full face (including the nose) for men. We also offer member (PP) rates and 5-session packages, so please check the price list for the rates applicable to your desired treatment area and plan.
Can I get medical hair removal even if I have a thick beard?
Even thick beards are eligible for medical hair removal at YAYOI CLINIC. The GentleMax Pro Plus system we use is effective even on thick, coarse hair, and we offer treatments for the entire male face (including the nose) as well as the face and neck. Since the treatment approach varies depending on beard thickness and skin condition, please let us know the areas you’d like to have treated during your consultation.
