FAQ
Borneuma Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of treatment is Volnuma?
Volnuma is a treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy applied to the skin to address sagging and loss of firmness. At YAYOI CLINIC, we use 6.78 MHz radiofrequency to help tighten the skin and restore its firmness.
What types of sagging skin is Volnuma suitable for?
Borneuma is ideal for those concerned about sagging in the cheeks and around the mouth, nasolabial folds, fine lines, and sagging around the eyes. Since the most appropriate treatment varies depending on the degree of sagging, a doctor will assess your skin condition and recommend the best course of treatment.
What is the difference between Volnuma and Hyfu?
The key difference is that Volnuma targets the entire subcutaneous tissue from the dermis, while HIFU primarily targets the subcutaneous tissue up to the SMAS layer. Volnuma uses radiofrequency (RF), while HIFU uses high-intensity focused ultrasound; each employs a different mechanism to achieve skin tightening.
Does Borneuma hurt?
Although Bolneuma is a treatment that produces a sensation of heat due to high-frequency waves, it is designed to minimize discomfort through features such as vibration and cooling. At YAYOI CLINIC, we minimize discomfort by combining the device’s built-in features with our own unique application method.
How long do the effects of Borneuma last?
It is generally recommended to undergo a Volnuma treatment about once every 4 to 6 months. Since the perceived effects and duration of results vary from person to person, we will discuss the optimal timing for your treatment based on your skin condition and the degree of sagging.
Can I get just one session of Volnuma?
Yes. You can start with just one session of Volnuma. At YAYOI CLINIC, we offer a "Light Course" for targeted treatment, a "Basic Course" for the entire face, and a "Full Course" covering the entire face plus the area under the chin.
Can the Volnuma treatment at YAYOI CLINIC be combined with other procedures?
Yes. At YAYOI CLINIC, we also offer treatment plans that combine Volnuma, Super HIFU, hyaluronic acid injections, and Botox injections. We tailor the treatment plan based not only on the degree of sagging but also on your budget and desired downtime.
What kind of downtime is associated with Voluma?
With Volnuma, dryness, redness, swelling, bruising, or burns may occur after treatment. Since the severity of these symptoms varies from person to person, please consult a doctor if any concerning symptoms persist.
Can people with thin faces get Voluma?
We determine whether Volnuma is suitable for you by assessing factors such as the amount of facial fat and the degree of sagging. At YAYOI CLINIC, we select the appropriate device based on the degree of sagging, so even if you are concerned about having a thin face, please consult with a doctor in advance.
How much does Borneuma cost?
At YAYOI CLINIC, the Volnuma treatment costs 55,000 yen for the Light Course (targeted treatment), 99,000 yen for the Basic Course (full face), and 138,000 yen for the Full Course (full face plus under the chin). Prices vary depending on the treatment area. (*Prices are current as of October 2026. Please check the price list for the latest pricing information.)
